01/01 - Gen 1-3 / Ps 1

Through the Bible in one year. This is the approach we have been using for a number of years.
This year I'm reading the NASB.
Posting this a few days late. I'll try to catch up.
Gen 1-3
Genesis 1 describes the creation day by day. I noticed this year that the sequence of creation interesting. Like, light. It was created on the 1st day, before the sun, moon & stars were created on the 4th day. So, light must be a more complex concept than what I typically think of as light.
I wonder if the "waters," discussed in the 2nd day is more complex in the same way.
Man & animals on the same day, the 6th and final day of creation, after the water creatures and birds on the 5th day.
God talks to Himself and uses the term "Us." One of the proofs that the Godhead has multiple persons.
Genesis 2 focuses on the creation of man & woman. There is no indication that animals were created male & female before woman was made for man. I wonder if only male animals were created first and females created afterwards? I all happened in one day according to Gen 1.
Genesis 3 discusses the Fall of Man - bummer.
Thinking about these chapters, I think it may be true that folks may have to have come to a believing faith in God before this description of the creation is accepted. Once mingled with faith in the Bible as God's infallible word, the description is easily accepted. But, without that, the serpent can easily beguile us and ask us "Indeed, has God said ..." creation happened this way.

Psalm 1
I want to delight in the law of the Lord rather than the council of those who are anti-God. The blessings described in the Psalm are blessings of stability, balance. Interesting to consider the anti-God council described here versus the council Adam & Eve followed in the fall.

Our Denver Lodging

Getting settled in Denver where our current contract finds us.
Here is a  of our video of our accommodations
Even though we are terribly homesick for our kids & grand kids, this is where God has taken us. We are trying to "be thankful in all things" as He has instructed us. We are thankful for a nice place to live, and for work. Looking forward to a homecoming though. Balance. Maintain balance.
